Dear IHSNO Students and Families,
With just a few months left in the school year, attendance is more critical than ever. As you know, we missed a week of school due to the Bayou Blizzard. The Louisiana Department of Education requires schools to meet a set number of instructional minutes each academic school year. With the snowstorm and the earlier disruption caused by Hurricane Francine, we’re currently short on the instructional minutes we need to complete the year.
We understand that schedule adjustments may cause inconveniences for our families, but we appreciate your cooperation as we make necessary calendar changes to recover the lost instruction time.
Please mark your calendars for the following changes:
Friday, February 28 will now be a regular school day, with dismissal at 3:30 p.m.
Thursday, March 6 and Friday, March 7 will be asynchronous learning days. More information about assignments and online office hours will be shared by your teachers before the Mardi Gras break. Completion of asynchronous assignments is required for students to be counted as present on asynchronous learning days.
One of our early dismissal Wednesdays toward the end of the school year will be converted into a full school day. The date will be shared with families once it has been finalized.
We thank you for your partnership, patience, and support.
